Expanding availability of energy retrofits

Preservation Compact partners Center for Neighborhood Technology and Community Investment Corporation pioneered the Cook County Energy Savers program, and showed that modest investments can yield improved
energy efficiency and lower operating costs to keep rental units affordable. Energy Savers has made impressive gains, including over 17,000 units audited and over 6,000 units retrofitted.

Compact objectives include developing strategies to bring multifamily rental energy retrofits to a larger scale. We are gauging demand for energy loans and identifying resources and mechanisms for more audits and loans.
