Housing Report Reveals Challenges for Affordable Rental
The State of the Nation’s Housing 2012, published by Harvard’s Joint Center for Housing Studies, found that across the country, a sharp increase in demand for rental housing in recent years has led to lower rental vacancy rates, a tightening rental market and increased rents. Disproportionate growth in the number of low income households has led to intense competition for the diminishing supply of low-cost rental units. Read the full report here.
