Rental Assistance Coordination Continues
Since the beginning of the year, The Preservation Compact has facilitated meetings with IHDA, the City of Chicago, and Cook County to coordinate emergency rental assistance programs. Now that the moratorium on utility shut-offs has ended, it is vital people contact their utility companies to learn what protections are available. Information can be found on the Citizens Utility Board (CUB) fact sheet. This includes bill payment assistance by utilities and additional Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) funding.
