Property Taxes Reassessed in South and West Suburbs in 2014

The triennial reassessment period has begun in Cook County’s South and West suburban townships. Appeals deadlines are approaching in Riverside and Bremen Townships. 

Properties in townships scheduled for reassessment will receive a notice of proposed valuation in the coming months. All properties owners, whether they are reassessed in 2014 or not, can appeal their property’s assessed value during a 30 day window. The Preservation Compact’s property tax working group recommends that multifamily rental property owners appeal their assessments.
