Chicago Energy Benchmarking Requirements Start June 1

Residential buildings 250,000 square feet or larger will be subject to the City of Chicago Energy Benchmarking Ordinance starting June 1, 2015.  The ordinance requires that covered buildings track energy usage and report it to the City annually.  In 2016, the requirements will apply to residential buildings 50,000 square feet or larger.  For more information about compliance, visit the City’s Energy Benchmarking page.
