Event – Emerging Strategies to Preserve Unsubsidized Affordable Rental Housing
On October 2, 2024, the Preservation Compact, The Institute for Housing Studies (IHS), and The Real Estate Center at DePaul University partnered to present an exploration of innovative and effective strategies to preserve unsubsidized affordable rental housing, often referred to as naturally occurring affordable housing, or NOAH, featuring panels that highlighted:
- Diverse Market Solutions: Practitioners across different market types discussed how communities with market typologies similar to yours have successfully preserved affordable housing.
- A Range of Housing Types: Panelists outlined preserving affordability in various building types, from 2-4 unit rental housing to 50+ units.
- A Variety of Practitioners: Property owners, including profit-driven developers and mission-focused organizations as well as finance and lending experts, shared their expertise.
