Joint Center for Housing Studies Releases Annual Report

Harvard’s Joint Center for Housing Studies released its annual State of the Nation’s Housing Report.  The report finds that  the need for affordable housing continues to be a nationwide issue: for the 11.5 million extremely low-income households in 2012, there were only 3.3 million rental units affordable and available to them.  Locally, more than half of Chicago renters are cost-burdened, meaning they spend more than 30% of their income on housing.
